A customer in the Aerospace industry needed a company with the capabilities for large part die cutting, contracting G.F. Cole Corporation to fabricate a custom fluorosilicone gasket for use in their electronic enclosures. We manufactured this unit employing our 150 ton four post press, with its 40" x 80" cutting surface, and ability to maintain tolerances of ±.010". Quality assurance was provided with documented dimensional caliper inspections. This gasket was engineered in two pieces, efficiently utilizing the expensive fluorosilicone compound for a significant cost reduction. Product cleaning and packaging were also provided, producing 500 pieces per year for this customer, with typical turnarounds of 2 to 3 weeks.
