Custom Adhesive Lamination of a Silicone Extrusion for the Aircraft Industry

A customer in the aircraft industry approached G.F. Cole Corporation to develop a custom extrusion laminated with pressure sensitive adhesive for aircraft jet engines. We took on the challenge of this specialty laminating and bonding project, designing and fabricating custom fixtures. The extrusion lamination was carried out using silicone and a pressure sensitive adhesive, utilizing our specialty bonding process to permanently affix the materials together, while maintaining tolerances of ±.010". The finished product was subjected to quality and accuracy testing including a documented dimensional inspection with calipers and an adhesive peel adhesion test, then cleaned and prepared for shipping. We process 300 rolls of this specialized product annually, with typical turnaround times of 1 to 2 weeks.
